Why do you think that it is necessary to use a "fake" phone number when texting or calling? Please give an example of a situation in which you would want to use your phone by using a phone number that wasn't yours. Decide which one of the apps shown would work best for you, and explain why.

ReplyDeleteOne reason i could think of would be to play a joke on someone. If I did use one of these apps it would be the Hushed app because it deletes your history automatically.

DeleteWhile I personally don't see too many uses for this kind of app, I do think it can have its benefits. If you absolutely need to contact someone, but don't plan on having an extended partnership with the person, you can make the fake number so your private information isn't out there. Hushed seems like the most useful, due to the fact that you can also send private messages to others within the app.
ReplyDeleteI think it is important just in case a private number or some random person calls you. Because it can be a dangerous situation.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that its necessary to have a fake phone number.I cant think of any situation where you would have to use a fake phone number besides if you're prank calling your friend.I wouldn't get the app because it would be wasteful use of space on my memory.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be necessary to use a "fake" number when calling to be safe just in case you don't want the person to call back or retrace where you were. I would use a fake number when pranking or to have fun with friends.
ReplyDeleteI don't like this fake number. I couldn't really think of a time I would need this. But since I have to put an answer I would say maybe if I had to get a hold of someone I wasn't familiar with or didn't want to text me so much. I think teachers could possibly use it for students that is school related. I would pick the first one because it seem easier to use.
ReplyDeleteI felt like this wasn't very convincing for me to download the app. I mean, what are cellphones used for? Calling and texting. You're given a personal phone number for identification. The only reason I'd use any of these apps was if I was playing a joke on someone and didn't want them to know it was me. Other than that, I will continue to use my REAL number to contact people.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason that I wound use a fake number for is if I'm talking to someone for one reason and doubt that i would ever talk to them ever again.
ReplyDeleteWell I don't really think its very necessary to use a fake number while texting and calling but in some cases it could be necessary. Probably only serious situations where you don't want that person to know you, call back, or trace you're number.
ReplyDeleteIt is important because then it is harder for a hacker to get your information. Your information will be more private. I would want to use a fake number when I want to set up a meeting with some people, but I'm not sure if I have the correct numbers. I would use the shush app because you can delete pictures or text messages after they have been read. If the information that you sent to someone is valuable, you can get rid of it so no one else gets a hold of it.
ReplyDeleteI think you would want to use a fake phone number because the person your calling you don't want them to no its you.You may also us e a fake number because you don't anyone to retrace your phone or coming to stalk you.
ReplyDeleteI think that it would only be necessary TO USE A FAKE number if you are trying to prank call someone. But other than that I don't see the point of having a fake phone number to talk in private? If i wanted to talk in private i would want to talk the person face to face instead of a fake phone number. But that is just me. For me, I personally wouldn't use any of those apps because there is no point of me having them.

The app that would work for me best would have to be Hushed, because private chatting so you don't have to worry about creating or getting a fake number.
