After watching the CNET video today, choose ONE of the stories (Birds take down drones, or Underground cargo) and write about the following:
1. Summarize what was presented.
2. Do you think that the topic that you chose to write about is realistic. Is this something that you think will definitely happen in the future? Why or why not?

ReplyDeleteThe underground cargo is a way to get to a certain place faster. They take you underground and it will take you to your destination. I believe that eventually this will happen in the future. I don't think it will be used by a lot of people due to the price. The people who would be able to afford it will get to places a lot faster.
ReplyDeleteI honestly think that it could happen in the future for Underground Cargo but i personally don't think it should happen.The reason why is because of the cost and its unnecessary. We don't need an Underground Cargo when we can spend that money on something we need .
ReplyDeleteI think that the bird catching drones is pretty cool. I say this because if there is a spy from a another country trying to get access information that he shouldn't have, the bird could easily take the drone out. It seems pretty realistic too and i could see this technique being used later on in the future in cases like that.

DeleteI think that #2 would be a great idea to have. Because you can have your cargo delivered right to your house but stuff can get transferred to the wrong house to.Also its going to cast a lot of money to dig the holes and put mono rails in the ground and stuff.
ReplyDeleteCargo tunnels where presented in this video. You could ship resources underground. This could be realistic because it would be a faster way to ship things to different places. On the other hand, it does cost a lot of money to make this project happen and we would possibly be in a lot of debt if we make this happen. I think that this could happen in the future, but it would take a lot of time and money to get it done.
ReplyDelete1. A company is working with large birds/eagles to train them to take drones out of the sky. The bird will catch the drone, and find a place to hide & protect it.

I do think its realistic because there's plenty of birds in the sky, but i don't think that there are enough birds trained to virtually take down every single drone in the sky so there will obviously still be illegal drone flying. Also, the propellers on a drone spin super fast and will harm a bird if they come into contact with the hazardous blades.
I don't think we should use under ground cargo. Most likely shipping would cost way more.Not only is shipping a problem but, how would they fix something if it were to break.A good thing is that our order will be less likely to be damaged when it arrives. In all I think that there is more cons than pros with this situation.

DeleteThe underground cargo seems like a good idea because I just like the idea of stuff getting delivered underground, and it just seems like a cool procedure, and it's something new.. It's always good to try new things. Honestly yes I think it will most likely happen in the future, the reason why I think that is because it seems like a very easy interesting way and I think people are going to eventually if they don't already right now want to try something new.
ReplyDeleteCargo tunnels are what they talked about in the video and how they transfer stuff like large packages you ordered.I think the topic is very realistic and can see this in the future of the year 2020 because a lot of new inventions will be coming out and gadgets so the cargo tunnels will fit right in with all the new stuff that will be coming out.
ReplyDeleteI liked the idea of how they would use underground cargo's for traveling. That can be a faster way for people to get there order. Yes, I do think that this idea was a good thing, and yes, I do believe that this "UNDERGROUND CARGO" would be something to look forward to in the future. This is an idea that can help a lot of people. With faster shipping and etc..

ReplyDeleteThe eagles taking down the drones are honestly an amazing idea. Unfortunately, people tend to fly drones in areas where they're not suppose to, causing a lot of problems for a lot of people. As a way to stop this, some people have been training eagles to take them down, solving these problems. The fact that people are still able to find ways to use non technological ways to deal with technological problems is amazing.

The underground railroad system is used for travelling goods underground.I think this is very realistic and i can see it in the future because its a safe way to get goods from one place to another. It shouldn't cost a lot of money because its underground.
ReplyDeletePolice are training eagles to snatch drones out of the sky in restricted areas. I believe that this is impractical due to the fact that a jammier would be more efficient.
